Transfer Next Steps

Please complete the items listed below by their respective dates, to ensure a smooth transition to life as a 'Cane. Review important dates and deadlines here.

Important First Tasks

Immediately:

  1. Accept your offer and submit your $500 nonrefundable enrollment deposit in CaneLink.
  2. Check your UM email. All University information will be communicated to you via your UM email account (e.g., registration appointments, financial aid, billing, grade, and student life information).
    • Link your UM email account to the email address you use most frequently.
    • Link UM email to your mobile device. For instructions, visit miami.edu/mobileconfig.
  3. Check your transferable credits.
  4. Confirm your contact information in CaneLink.
  5. Set up proxy access in CaneLink.
  6. Register for 'Cane Kickoff in CaneLink
    • To register, select the Orientation Registration link. Students may add information for parents and family members who intend to participate in the optional programming provided.
  7. Consider housing options: On-Campus Housing and Off-Campus Housing.
  8. *If entering the United States on an F-1 or J-1 visa, scan a copy of your bank/government sponsorship letter and the first page of your passport to mydocuments@miami.edu
  9. Complete financial assistance to-do items in CaneLink
  10. Transcripts can be sent to:
    • Office of Undergraduate Admission

    • Or A college transcript can be sent through a secure transcript service.

  1. Starting May 29, follow school-specific instructions to complete your course registration
