Miami Herbert Business School Pathways

If your goal is to join the Miami Herbert Business School, we want to help you keep that goal within reach. Below are some clear and attainable pathways to help you pursue your academic business interests at UM and long-term career goals:

Internal Transfer Pathway

You can apply for an internal transfer to Miami Herbert from your current school or college at the University of Miami. To qualify, you’ll need to complete MTH 161 (Calculus I) with a grade of B or higher, complete one semester in residence while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA and the last 45 credits enrolled at the University of Miami will be done exclusively and consecutively at the Miami Herbert Business School. Please note that depending on your current math level, you may be required to complete other prerequiste math courses before enrolling in MTH 161.

Miami Hebert Minor Pathway for non-Business majors

In consultation with their academic advisor (Cane Navigator), students in other schools and colleges of the University may choose to pursue a minor for non-business students in one of the following minor areas of specialization: Business Law, Business Technology, Economics – Political Economy, Economics – Quantitative Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Health Management & Policy, Management, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Sustainable Business.

Double Cane Graduate Pathway

You may also choose to explore the Miami Herbert Double Cane Graduate Pathway, which allows eligible UM students to begin select graduate coursework during their senior year. This option provides an efficient and cost-effective way to deepen your expertise and work towards both your undergraduate and master’s degrees in areas such as finance, business analytics, or management. To qualify for a Herbert graduate program, you must hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the time of graduation. For more information on this option, you may review the Double Cane site.
